How to Care for your Hair Extensions

DISCLAIMER: Since our clip-ins mimic real 3b/3c, 3c/4a & 4b/4c hair textures, proper care is important. Please be gentle and patient when working with your kinky curly clip-ins as they are more prone to tangle easily with bad handling and lack of patience. Our clip-ins are made to mimic natural hair, so if not properly styled and cared for you will experience the same issues you may have with your natural hair.

STEP 1: CO-WASH THE HAIR AND RINSE:

Always wash and detangle the hair one clip-in at a time in the same direction. Make sure you wash them in a downward direction and not rubbing them together otherwise they could tangle.

Product Recommendations: Silicon Mix Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo, TreSemme Moisture Rich Conditioner, Silicon Mix Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner.

STEP 2: CONDITION THE HAIR

Condition using Silicon Mix Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner. Apply conditioner starting at the top of the hair piece and rubbing it downward to the ends, all while finger detangling. It is best to conditioner the hair piece by piece instead of in a bundle to avoid tangling. Don't forget to give the ends of your hair some love since they can sometimes be more prone to frizziness, make sure to add conditioner there sis!

DEEP CONDITION: A deep conditioner should be used every two weeks. Leave the conditioner in your hair for 30 mins to overnight, then rinse with warm water.

Product Recommendations: Silicon Mix Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner., TreSemme Moisture Rich Conditioner,

STEP 3: DETANGLE THE HAIR

Always detangle using a detangler brush or your fingers. ALWAYS detangle when the hair is WET! Tip: Be sure to remove every other row from your Denman Brush if using for detangling.

STEP 4: STYLING THE HAIR

Always squeeze out the excess water; to ensure the hair remains damp for styling. You can keep a spray bottle handy to rewet the hair, the wetter the hair the better for styling.

For Light Curl Definition: After you have conditioned the hair , while the hair is soaking wet apply a dime size of TreSemme Conditioner and work  from the top all the way to the ends of the hair. Always style the hair in pieces and not in a bundle to achieve maximum definition.

For Max Curl Definition: After you have conditioned the hair , while the hair is soaking wet apply a dime size of Tresemme Conditioner and follow up with a quarter size amount of Wetline Gel and work  from the top all the way to the ends of the hair. Always style the hair in pieces and not in a bundle to achieve maximum definition. Use a Denman or Felecia Leatherwood brush to clump curls.

Can I dye or put heat to the hair ?

Yes, but please understand, just like any hair, too much manipulation from its original state can cause damage. We recommend Clairol Textures and Tones. You can dye, however, improper care can cause the hair to weaken and change its curl pattern. If attempting to bleach hair or drastically lift color please seek professional assistance or use high quality salon-grade hair dye.Kindly note, dyeing or toning your hair extensions may alter the structure of the hair, resulting in a lowered lifespan. Dyeing and toning OGN hair extensions are done at the customer's discretion. Although many of our customers have used these products with lots of success, we are not responsible and can not accept any returns or exchanges on hair extensions that have been treated with dye, toner, or any color depositing shampoos/conditioners/products. Also, we will be unable to provide an exchange or refund for sets that have been damaged due to bleaching.  We do not recommend straightening the hair due to it's kinky coarse texture as it is possible to permanently destroy the curl pattern.

How long will my clip-ins last ?

How long your hair last really depends on you! Our hair can last anywhere between 6 months to a year with regular use and correct maintenance. Our hair can last longer if worn less often. Treat it like your own hair and take very good care of it for it to last longer. We recommend you purchase a weft sealer to keep shedding at a minimal.
